Google Talk!

I'm sure you all know by now, but Google has launched it's IM product, Google Talk! I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but according to Dubz it lives up to the Google standard.

I haven't used IM much in the last few months, mainly because prior to that I used it mostly at work, and here at my new job we're not allowed IM clients on our machines. Nonetheless, I'll most likely have Google Talk installed shortly after arriving home.

From what I've seen of the interface, it's very clean, simple and easy on the eyes. One of the things I really love about Google and their products is their simplicity of design. From the Google homepage to Gmail, it's very, very simple and clean. No fancy graphics, Flash animations, or Java gizmos. Just a clean, easy to use interface. It's one of the reasons I started using Trillian for IM was because the other IM's were becoming nothing more than (to steal a quote from Dubz) "Ad Machines".

Those of you that already have Talk installed, look for me online tonight. Maybe we could test the VOIP (if I can find my mic).

I like it. I know you will. It is just going to take me a while to completely get off of the other IM's.
